MINING ENGINEERING: 4692 - Alternate Underground Manager WA

Our Client is one of the world’s largest gold producers with an annual production in excess of 4 million ounces. They are now well established in Australia with their mines producing in excess of 700,000 oz per year and are proud to have some of the countries most talented, exploration, mining, processing, maintenance and associated support people on their team.

They are currently offering an opportunity for an enthusiastic Senior Mining Engineer/Alternate Underground Manager to join their team at their Western Australian operation. This position represents a fantastic opportunity for career development within their Group.

Your primary focus will be;

  • Responsible and accountable for managing the contract, planned development and stoping operations at the mine
  • Consideration of both the daily production requirements and the long term needs of the mine
  • Be responsible for coordinating, supervising and mentoring the Production, Drill & Blast, Planning and Ventilation Engineers
  • Underground design and long term scheduling
  • Budgeting and forecast preparation
  • Act as Underground Mine Manager in his absence and be a solid 2IC for the mine

Ideally, you will have;

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mining)
  • Minimum 5 years underground engineering experience
  • Demonstrated experience with computer aided mine design
  • Experience in working effectively with a contractor workforce
  • A W.A. First Class Mine Managers Certificate or the ability to attain one
