Our Client, a West Australian based supplier of iron ore to the Chinese and Japanese markets are now seeking a Superintendent Heritage to join their Resource Development team based here in the CBD.

Your primary responsibilities will be;

• To manage all of the indigenous survey requirements to assist in obtaining approvals to conduct exploration and mining activities and to ensure the appropriate measures to comply with the WA's Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972.
• To liaise with mine planners and exploration personnel to ascertain future mining and exploration activities in order to determine whether or not heritage surveys are required.
• To obtain appropriate plans/maps of proposed disturbed lands.
• To ensure compliance of Aboriginal Heritage Act including Section 16, 17 and 18 approvals
• To ensure compliance with aboriginal heritage agreements.
• To maintain a heritage survey/site register.
• To maintain a heritage agreement register.
• To ascertain proposed timing of land disturbances.
• To keep informed the mining and exploration personnel of heritage issues.
• To engage and liaise with appropriate anthropologists and archaeologists in order to arrange surveys as required.
• To consult aboriginal parties of proposed land disturbances to ascertain heritage needs.
• To ensure surveys are undertaken in a timely manner.
• To ensure appropriate survey reports are received and appropriate consents of aboriginal consultants given.
• To arrange payments for the surveys.
• To plan and determine an annual budget for the heritage surveys.

The successful candidate will possess;

• Experience in arranging indigenous heritage surveys
• An understanding of the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972
• A current drivers Licence
