Geology Jobs - GEOLOGY JOBS: 6721 - Senior Open Pit Geologist - CLOSED - Details - Mining Employment Services

Our client is a newly created, well funded company which is acquiring 2 mining operations, associated infrastructure and substantial tenement holdings. The current requirement is for the services of an experienced Senior Mine Geologist to lead a site-based geological team for the geological functions of a multi-pit gold operation in the Eastern Goldfields. The role will be FIFO ex-Perth.

It is anticipated that the successful applicant will have around 7-10 years post-graduate experience, including significant exposure to open pit gold mining in Archaean greenstone terrains - and have demonstrated experience in a similar role at a senior level.  Experience with mining industry software including Surpac is considered essential.

In this FIFO role, reporting to the Mining Manager, your key responsibilities will include :

• Overseeing the daily grade control functions of the open pits, including grade control drilling, ore markouts and geological mapping.
• Regular ore reconciliations between resource models, grade control and milling
• Supervising and mentoring other mine geologists and support staff.
• Maintenance of procedures and safe working practices for all mine site geological activities
• Planning and implementation of drilling programs
• Inputs into updating geological resource models
• Liaising with key external contractors (laboratories, drilling companies)
• Compilation of various reports on mining activities.

This role is offered a permanent basis (Ex Perth) to the Goldfields. An attractive remuneration package is on offer to the successful candidate.
