Our Client requires a suitably qualified Senior Metallurgist who is able to work the plant and provide practical and technical support to maximise the productivity of their operation based in Africa.

Key responsibilities of this role include;

• Provide leadership to ensure that employees and contractors adhere to safety and environmental standards
• Involvement in managing capital projects in a timely and effective manner to completion
• Lead activities of the Metallurgy Team to assure cost effective and high quality metal recovery activities including accurate budgeting, metallurgical accounting and reconciliation. 
• Implement and monitor operations budgeting and cost control systems
• Provide technical input into the ongoing development of training packages
• Liaise with other departments to achieve optimum throughput and recovery
• Pro-actively participate and contribute to department tactical plan

Qualifications and Experience required to be successful;

• Tertiary qualification in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering
• At least five years experience in industry with exposure to gold processing and flotation required.
• Access Database Met Accounting experience well regarded
• Prior experience in Africa is desirable but will consider those candidates with other overseas experience.
