MINING ENGINEERING JOBS: 7229 - Open Pit Superintendent - closed
An exciting opportunity exists to step into an OPEN PIT SUPERINTENDENT role with a reputable mining company in South Australia.
The main focus of this role is to provide leadership to the production team to ensure that all targets are achieved in a coordinated, cost effective, timely and safe manner and also to oversee the mining and haulage contractor on site.
Responsibilities:
- 7+ years open pit mining experience
- At least 3 years at a Senior level within a similar mining environment
- Act as the statutorily appointed Quarry Manager and deputise for the General Manager as and when required
- Manage the mining and haulage contractor
- Provide leadership in the delivery of a safe workplace and safety culture
- Experience with budgeting, financial analysis and cost control
- Ability to mentor guide and train site personnel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A good understanding of mining law and industrial relations
- High level of mine planning, spread sheet applications, word processing and presentation experience
Requirements:
- Unrestricted Quarry Managers Certificate
- Senior First Aid Certificate
- Front Line Management Training would be advantageous
- Some exposure to mining software
This is an 8/6 roster from Adelaide to site - will fly from any capital city in Australia to Adelaide and then on to site
