OPEN PIT MINING SUPERINTENDENT
Our client operates an open pit mine in the Northern Territory.
They are looking for an Open Pit Mining Superintendent for their operations
Reporting to the Mining Manager the primary focus of this role is to co ordinate the day to day open pit operations to ensure safe production.
Accountabilities
- Ensure the health and safety of all staff involved in mining operations is in compliance with Company standards
- Liaison and supervision of the open pit mining contractor and ore haulage contractor
- Coordinate and manage the site based technical team including engineering, geology and survey personnel
- Undertake performance appraisal for the site based technical team
- Ensure team members receive effective mentoring, coaching and support for their respective roles
- Co ordination of near site resource definition drilling in consultation with mining department
- Monitoring and reporting daily, weekly and monthly mine performance
- Undertake duties within budget guidelines
- Identification of design and mine improvement opportunities
- Strive for continuous mine improvements
- Monitor mining standards to ensure mining quality and dilution control
This is DIDO from Darwin to site with 5 days on 2 days off roster
Assistance to relocate to Northern Territory may be available to the successful candidate
Position Requirements

Degree in Mining Engineering or Geology discipline

Preferably has a minimum of 5 years experience in an open pit operation.

Proven safety management performance in a mining operation
-
Proven ability to manager contract operations
-
Initiative and strong problem solving skills

Excellent communication skills
-
Computer literate with Pronto experience would be an advantage
