UNDERGROUND MINING ENGINEER

Our client is a global diversified mining group, listed on the London and Swiss Stock Exchanges. The Company maintain a meaningful position in seven major international commodity markets: copper, coking coal, thermal coal, ferrochrome, nickel, vanadium and zinc, with additional exposures to platinum group metals, gold, cobalt, lead and silver, recycling facilities and a suite of global technology products, many of which are industry leaders. The Group's operations and projects span 18 countries across the globe. 

They are looking for an UNDERGROUND MINING ENGINEER for their operations in the Northern Goldfields of WA.

Reporting to the Underground Manager the primary focus of this role is to ensure ongoing statutory mine ventilation compliance and provide mine engineering expertise in support of safe, productive, sustainable and cost effective underground mining operations.

Accountabilities

• Ensure compliance with Company, OH&S and environmental standards
• Ensure ongoing statutory mine ventilation compliance, including development and implementation of a 3 month statutory testing schedule
• Support and sustain own personal development
• Executing tasks as directed by the Underground Manager including mine ventilation, drill and blast and mine development design 
• Supporting the Underground Manager in development and implementation and development of assigned continuous improvement projects including development of review and operating procedures

This is FIFO role with 8/6Roster

 Position Requirements

• Degree in Mining Engineering 
• WA C class drivers license
• 3+ years underground hands on experience
• MARCSTA and Mine Workers Health Surveillance Cert
• Proven safety management performance in a mining operation
• Initiative and strong problem solving skills
• Excellent communication skills
• VULCAN and VENTSIM experience
