MINING PRODUCTION JOBS: 7309 - Mine Supervisor - CLOSED

Our client is currently seeking an experience Mine Supervisor for their successful gold operation. This will be an overseas residential role with relocation assistance on offer for the right candidate. The roster will be a rotation of 3 days/3 night/3 off with a 6 day break once every third rotation (once a month) alternating between night and day shift.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Complying with the supervisor responsibilities as outlined in the OGL Health and Safety Manual.
  • Supervising the activities of mining crew operators to meet shift production targets
  • Ensuring open cut mine workings meet the standards outlined in the OGL Mine Design Specification
  • Recommending development and training requirements for operators
  • Complying with all safety requirements and company policies and procedures
  • Carry out all other duties that may reasonably be required

Skills and Attributes:

  • Ability to use judgement in assessing the work of others and fault finding
  • Extensive knowledge of the practices and techniques applied in open cut mining using large mobile equipment
  • Ability to relate and communicate effectively with people from a wide range of educational backgrounds
  • Ability to mentor, coach, review and develop subordinates
  • Initiative - ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work shift work.
  • Able to make decisions within a clear framework that deliver team goals
  • Able to lead a heated discussion to produce a positive outcome.
  • Able to challenge people who are not meeting the required standards
  • Able to show empathy

Qualifications:

  • Workplace Trainer Category 1
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Current Full Manual Drivers License

Experience required:

  • Minimum 5-10 years open pit mining experience working with and on heavy mining equipment

Other Criteria:

  • Satisfactory results from the prescribed medical examination and psychological appraisal which may indicate fitness and ability to carry out prescribed tasks to required performance and safety standards
  • Production of a satisfactory security clearance
