ALTERNATE UNDERGROUND MANAGER

Our client is a operates an underground mine in the north of WA. They are concentrating exploration on prospects that have potential to provide high value deposits to enable rapid future growth for the company.

They are looking for an ALTERNATE UNDERGROUND MANAGER for their operations.

Reporting to the Underground Manager the primary focus of this role is to be responsible for managing and controlling all aspects of the underground mining operations. Producing budgeted, safe production output in a sustainable, cost effective manner, in line with Company and statutory requirements.

Accountability's

  • Ensure the health and safety of all staff involved in mining operations is in compliance with Company standards
  • Ensure underground mining operational capabilities and performance are maintained through effective management, accountability's, development and training of personnel
  • Ensure team members receive effective mentoring, coaching and support for their respective roles
  • Supporting the Underground Manager in the development and implementation of an annual plan and budget for the operations
  • Supporting and monitoring the business plan
  • Ensuring production targets are achieved
  • Monitoring performance indicators
  • Ensuring the mining operations systems, policies and procedures meet ongoing statutory requirements 
  • Ensuring monthly labour, production, consumables and services are in line with budget

This is FIFO role with 8/6 roster

 Position Requirements

  • Degree in Mining Engineering 
  • WA First Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency
  • WA C class drivers license
  • Preferably has a minimum of 8 years experience in an underground operation.
  • Proven safety management performance in a mining operation
  • Initiative and strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
