OPEN PIT SENIOR MINE PLANNING/PRODUCTION ENGINEER
Our client operates their mining operations in the Mid West region of Western Australia. They are looking for a Senior Open Pit Mine Planning/Production Engineer for their operations This is a key role, reporting to the Senior Management and providing mine planning, production and design responsibilities for the operations.
Accountabilities
- Providing mine planning, detailed mine design, development and detailed production scheduling, short term planning, LOM
- Examining mining methods and equipment to improve performance
- Involvement in the development and planning around the drill and blast activities
- Prepare monitor and update production data
- Various other projects as required
- Supervision and mentoring of junior/graduate engineers and technical staff
- Resolve technical problems
- Liaising with consultant and specialist suppliers as required
This is FIFO from Perth with an 8/6 roster
Position Requirements

Degree in Mining Engineering
-
Unrestricted QM ticket or in the process of obtaining one
-
Preferably has a minimum of 5-7 years experience in an open pit operation in hard rock mining

Proven safety management performance in a mining operation
- Initiative and strong problem solving skills

Excellent communication skills
-
Computer literate with mine planning software preferably SURPAC
