GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING JOBS: 7874 - Underground Geotechnical Engineer - South Australia- FIFO - 9/5 - Closed
Our Client is an Australian based mining company. The company is building their business through exploration and extending existing projects .
The operation is located in South Australia. The site is currently involved in a number of Geotechnical R&D projects in which the successful candidate will play a key role. The underground operation is under way and will provide some geotechnical stimulation and challenges going forward into the future.
Our Client is currently seeking an experienced Underground Geotechnical Engineer to join their team. This position will be reporting directly to the Underground Manager,
Requirements of the role
- Involvement in the daily geotechnical assessment of underground work areas
- Carry out ground support design, QA and control support systems
- Development of ground control management plan
- Compliance with OH&S and environmental policies and standards
- Support other engineers/geologists on geotechnical matters
- Assist with ongoing project works
- Development and implementation of continuous improvement and review operating procedures
- Knowledge of core logging, mapping, ground displacement and micro-seismicity monitoring
- Preparation of databases and reports QA/QC of support systems, rockmass data and stress modelling and backfill operations
- Must be computer literate
To be successful, you will have:
- A relevant tertiary degree, Mining Engineering/and or Geological Engineering
- At least 3 years experience in underground mining (essential) and open pit mining (desirable), particularly in the area of rock mechanics.
- A strong results orientation.
- Focus on continuous improvement / innovation.

This is a 9/5 FIFO role from Adelaide to site.
