MINING ENGINEERING JOBS: 7900 - Open Pit Mine Superintendent - WA CLOSED
OPEN PIT MINE SUPERINTENDENT
Our Client is a developing iron ore producer in the Mid West region of WA and they looking for a Mining Superintendent.
Reporting to the Manager of Mining, this role would be responsible for safely ensuring sufficient ore of correct quality is always available for processing without compromising statutory requirements and Company Policy and Procedures
The accountabilities for this position would be:
- Possess a sound knowledge of the Mines Regulations Act
- Ensure Contractors on site are aligned with Company goals and objectives
- Have input into short, long term planning and scheduling, drill and blast, surveying, grade control geology and mine rehabilitation
- Effectively manage daily production and cost data
- Assume supervision and control of Processing Superintendents duties when they are off site
- Develop strategic and annual plans and budgets
- Ensure daily, weekly and monthly reporting is completed
- Engage in continuous improvement for site operations
- Engage in continuous improvement for all site personnel and be mentor for same
The requirements for this position would be:
- Degree qualified Mining Engineer or equivalent
- A WA Unrestricted Quarry Managers Certificate
- Have previous experience in a senior supervisory role in mining, 10+ years open pit experience, preferably with iron ore exposure
- Have a strong commitment to safe working practices
- Demonstrate effective people management skills
- Display effective problem solving skills
- Use of Mining software
This is a FIFO 8/6 Roster
