MINING ENGINEERING JOBS: 7982 - Underground Drill and Blast Engineer - Residential - Qld
Our client operates a large scale mining operation in Queensland and they are looking for a suitably qualified Underground Drill and Blast Engineer for their operation.
This is a residential role and the Company will pay reasonable relocation expenses, temporary accommodation, housing allowance as well as competitive salaries and bonus.
Reporting to the Underground Drill and Blast Superintendent you will be responsible for the the drill and blast functions of the mine and to ensure that the production schedules are achieved with maximum ore production
Accountabilities for this position
- Designing and monitoring of blasts
- Assist the Drill and Blast Superintendent in managing the D&B
- Liaise with other departments to schedule drill and blast functions
- Liaise with contractors to ensure explosives forecasts are met
- Undertake projects as required
Requirements for this position
- Degree qualified mining engineer
- 2+ years previous experience in an underground mine
- Have a strong commitment to safe working practices
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Display effective problem solving skills
- Sound computer knowledge
