MINING ENGINEERING JOBS: 7985 - Senior Open Pit Mine Planning Engineer - Residential - Qld
Our client operates a large scale mining operation in Queensland and they are looking for a suitably qualified Senior Open Pit Mine Planning Engineer for their operation.
This is a residential role and the Company will pay reasonable relocation expenses, temporary accommodation, housing allowance as well as competitive salaries and bonus.
Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent you will be responsible for the management, coordination and control of the short to medium term mine planning activities as well as the development of strategic and conceptual plans for the open pit mines. You will also be responsible for the timely delivery of mine planning information to project personnel and continual and effective liaison with all departments and management to optimise the mine planning
Accountabilities for this position
- Produce short and medium term mine planning to facilitate continuous ore availability
- Development of strategic and conceptual plans
- Manage scheduled monthly reports and updates as required
- Timely delivery of mine planning
- Effectively liaise with other departments and management to optimise mine planning
- Produce scheduled monthly reports and updates as required
- Ensure operational designs are practical and implemented and in compliance with planning
- Providing technical support to other departments
- Undertake projects as required
Requirements for this position
- Degree qualified mining engineer
- 5-7 years previous experience in a supervisory role in an open pit mine
- Have a strong commitment to safe working practices
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Display effective problem solving skills
- Sound computer knowledge
