MINING ENGINEERING JOBS: 8107 - Senior Mining Engineer - WA
SENIOR OPEN PIT MINING ENGINEER
Our client is operating an open pit mine in the mid west region of Western Australia. The project commenced operations in early 2010. The project involves the mining, crushing, screening and transport of ore from three existing pits to the nearest port. Mining, crushing, haulage and shipment of ore is planned over five years,
The role will be diverse and interesting as you will be responsible for all the mining engineering duties whilst on site. This is a great opportunity to be hands on with all facets of open pit mining and you will be required to act as RM when required.
Responsibilities for the position
- Provide mine planning including development
- Daily, weekly and end of month reporting processes and operational plans
- Provide input for drill and blast practices and manage drill and blast contractors on site
- Project work as required
- Liaise with contractors and other personnel on site
- Demonstrate full understanding of site safety and procedure
- Act as Alternate RM when required
Requirements for the position
- Degree in Mining Engineering
- 5-7 years previous open pit experience
- Ability to use Surpac
- Must have an unrestricted QM ticket
- Initiative and strong problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
This position is available immediately and the roster and living arrangements are negotiable
