MINING ENGINEERING JOBS: 8223 - Underground Mining Engineer - QLD - Closed
Our client is an Australian based mining and exploration company. Their operation is based in Queensland.
They are looking for an Underground Mining Engineer for their underground operations.
The main focus of this position is to assist the Underground Manager in developing safe and effective drill and blast plans and managing risk in relation to underground mine operations through the provision of short term plans, weekly to a month and respective drilling and blasting plans. Assist in providing day to day supervision and control of the mining contractor and mining operations.
Accountability for this position
- Assist in the mining engineering through the short term planning with a focus on provision of associated drilling and blast plans aimed at attaining production targets, cost effectiveness and unit cost improvement
- Underground development plans and schedules
- Assistance in the annual business plan preparation
- Involvement and participation in medium term planning as required to ensure continuity and forward planning of short term planning activities
- Assist with the management of all mining contractors on site to ensure adherence with contractual agreements and operational requirements
- collection and management of production data, ensuring all reports required are produced in a timely manner
- Assist Geology and Survey Departments as required
- Ongoing project work as required
- Actively promoting safe work environment and culture
Requirements for this position

Degree in Mining Engineering
-
3-5 years underground hands on experience
-
Preferably working towards 1st Class qualification
- Computer literacy in Mine 2-4D, Datamine, Surpac, Microsoft
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
This is an 8/6 roster - FIFO from Cairns or Townsville
