MINING ENGINEERING JOBS: 8274 - Underground Manager - FIFO 12/9 - WA
Our client is an Australian based mining company. They have operations throughout Western Australia.
They are looking for an Underground Manager for their underground operations in the Kimberley region of WA
The main focus of this position is to manage the Underground Mining Department on a daily basis, while ensuring adherence to all statutory requirements of safety, health and environmental standards and procedures
Accountability for this position
- Ensure all mine development and production targets are achieved and maintained without compromising safety
- Monitor performance to targets
- Effective day to day management of the mining contractor
- Implementation of mine design and schedules
- Manage underground mining development and mining production costs in accordance with budget
- Effectively manage underground personnel and contractors
- Ensure that a safe and healthy work environment is achieved
- Conduct regular workplace inspections in compliance with company safety and environmental standards
- Carry out statutory requirements
- Contribute to the administration and management of the mining department
- Strive to achieve positive and productive results for all employee relations through mentoring, training and development
- Ability to assume the responsibilities of the Mining Manager whilst the MM is off site
Requirements for this position

Degree in Mining Engineering
-
WA 1st Class Mine Mangers Certificate of Competency
- 7+ years underground hands on experience
- Demonstrated skills in holding regulatory appointment
- Computer literate
- Demonstrated commitment to and achievement of OH&S outcomes
- Initiative and strong problem solving skills

Effective people management and communication skills
Our client is prepared to fly the successful candidate from the east coast of Australia to site
This is a 12/9 roster which would be suitable for candidates coming from the east coast
