This permanent role is offered on a residential basis only.

Key Responsibilities of the role include:

• Supervision of the Copper Mine survey team and coordination of mine survey activities;
• Provision of technical leadership and training to the mine survey team;
• Development and continuous improvement of the survey standards and procedures for MICO
• Assist and mentor the survey team to ensure timely delivery of accurate and professional underground and surface surveying work
• Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of all surveying equipment at MICO

The ideal applicant will possess:

• A Degree Qualification in Surveying or equivalent;
• A minimum of 4 years experience as a Mine Surveyor, preferably in an underground metalliferous mining environment;
• Strong knowledge of Surpac surveying software and Compnet.
• Registration (or capability to be registered) as a Queensland Mine Surveyor.  Xstrata will assist with registration for the successful candidate.
• Strong leadership ability
