MINING ENGINEERING JOBS: 8464 - Senior Mining Engineer - New Zealand
Our client is a significant Gold Producer with a diverse portfolio of operation, developing and exploration assets. They are currently seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to join one of their major New Zealand operations.
Key Tasks

Supervise the Mining Engineering team

Actively contribute to the Company technical team to ensure the Globe Progress pit designs are optimised.

Complete detailed designs for all pits (staged and ultimate pits) waste rock stacks, stockpiles and haul roads.

Ensure robust controls are in place for assessment & validation of changes to mine designs or the mine plan.

Contribute to the strategic planning function and assist the Company planning function to achieve the Company targets by optimising the output potential of the autoclave.

Complete rolling weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual mining schedules that adhere to LOM objectives.

Complete schedules and programs of required infrastructure development to ensure annual mine plans are adhered to.

Assist with mine production control.

Liaise with the Mining Operations Superintendent and Supervisors regarding mine excavation to ensure designs are followed and localised changes to pit design to optimise ore extraction and pit access are correctly implemented.

Manage the mine recording and reporting system to ensure reliable information is maintained and presented to end-users, and in particular ensure the equipment production management system, provides reliable data for management information, and is routinely used as the basis for continuous improvement programs.

Liaise with Mine Geologists regarding planning of mining and drilling activities.

Supervise various civil construction projects and service contactors and administer construction & service contracts, as requested.
Candidate Specification
-
BSc or BE in Mining Engineering
-
Ability to run scheduling software and cost modeling software
-
5-8 years previous mining engineering experience
-
At least 2 years previous open pit gold mining experience

Previous technical and supervisory experience
