MINERAL PROCESSING JOBS: 8566 - Senior Metallurgist - Expat
On behalf of our Client, we are seeking applications from experienced candidates for an exciting and challenging Senior Metallurgist role.
The primary purpose of this position is to manage and ensure the safe operation of the processing plant through control and optimisation of a complex base metals circuit, involving solvent extraction and electrowinning.
About the role:
- You will also be responsible for supervising, coordinating and controlling all metallurgy operations
- Allocating resources and supervising technical research projects
- Direct plant performance to achieve daily production targets
- Identifying metallurgical projects for process improvement
- Mentoring of national Metallurgists and Processing Staff
- Liaising with Production and Geology departments
- Promotion of safety, health & environmental awareness
Your qualifications / experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Commitment to train both nationals and expatriates
- Proven leadership and communication skills
- A very hands on approach and strong cultural awareness
- Strong commitment to Safety and Environment
- Ability to stand in as Process Manager as required
