We are currently seeking a Drill & Blast Engineer to join one of our clients underground mines in Western Australia.

This successful Australian gold producer are offering a family friendly FIFO 8/6 roster from Perth, excellent remuneration and benefits for the successful applicant.

Responsibilities will include:

• Stope designs including dimensions, slot raise layout and ring layout, whilst considering geotechnical issues and cut-off parameters;
• Preparing stope design reports showing tonnes, grades and drill metres;
• Liaising with the longhole driller to ensure drill patterns are being adhered to and giving technical advice to ensure drilling is accurate and correct;
• Designing the layout of longhole blasting plans, and issue blasting instructions to the blasting crew;
• Liaising with the blasting crew to ensure correct loading procedures are being used and checking stope tie-in prior to blasting for correctness;
• Keeping records of all stope drilling and blasting, including development plans, geotechnical issues and CMS data;
• Analysing results of blast monitoring and design blasts to adhere to conditions of the environmental license;
• Preparing drilling plans for drain holes, cable holes and miscellaneous holes;
• Ensure stope drilling and blasting schedule meets weekly and monthly targets to achieve budget or forecast;
• Being responsible for the stock control and ordering of explosives as required.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally:

• BE Degree qualified in Mining Engineering
• Have 1+ years previous underground mining engineering experience.
