Geology Jobs - CONTRACT JOBS: 8909 Exploration Geologist x3 - Details - Mining Employment Services

We are currently sourcing numerous Exploration Geologists for contracts in Central NSW.  Our client is a world leader in finding, mining and processing the Earth's mineral resources, with most assets in Australia and North America, but also operating in Europe, South America, Asia and Africa.

THE ROLE

The primary responsibility of this position is Core Logging.  The position requires candidates that are able to work in a team environment and assist other geologists to log or rack and un-rack core when necessary.  You will also be required to enter results of core logging into the Acquire database.  It is expected once candidates are provided the proper training (approximately 2 weeks), you will have the ability to log an average of 100m drill core per day.

These contracts are expected to last for 6 months.  We are offering extremely flexible rosters depending on the successful candidates FIFO requirements and location. Majority of rosters are currently 9/5 and 14/7.  Suitable candidates will be flown from all major Australian capitals for the duration of the contract.  Accommodation and meals will be provided at a nominated motel, as well as a hire vehicle to travel to and from work each day, and for airport pick-up and drop-off.  This is an outstanding opportunity as candidates currently in the role advise they have never had better working conditions, with excellent training and support.

THE CANDIDATE

The successful candidate will have successfully completed their Degree in Geology, with at least 3 years experience within Exploration Geology.  As a primary requirement you will have solid experience logging core of hard rock materials.  Previous copper-gold experience is highly desirable, however we will consider candidates with a strong logging background in igneous terrains or base metals.  You will also require a current Australian drivers' licence and previous experience with AcQuire software would be an advantage.
