Our Client is a global mining house with assets throughout the globe in operations, exploration and development projects. They are currently seeking an experienced professional to join their operation in a Senior Management position

Manager – Asset Management and Infrastructure

Reporting to the General Manager, the role is responsible for delivering maintenance strategies and systems to achieve optimum performance of the operation’s assets. The department has 750 employees and includes accountability for managing and maintaining safe and reliable surface and underground mobile mining equipment, light vehicles, fixed plant, power generation facilities, site infrastructure services and information and technology.

The preferred candidate will be a degree qualified Engineer, ideally in mechanical or related discipline with significant experience in large scale mining, project management and reliability engineering. You will be commercially astute and have extensive experience in managing costs and budgeting as well as the development and implementation of integrated maintenance systems and processes. Your safety orientation will be second to none and you will have a proven track record for effective performance management of your teams.

This challenging role also requires you to engage with a multi cultural workforce and it is essential that you have the capability and desire to transfer skills and knowledge to a national workforce as you will be responsible to oversee the provision of training and coaching of National employees as part of the company’s Training and Localisation Plan.

Operating on a 9 days on, 5 days off, 7 days on, 7 days off roster commuting from Cairns you will work as part of a highly trained, multicultural team on this exciting international project.
