Our client is one of the world's leading natural resources groups, focused on copper production. They operate 17 underground and open pit mines across Eastern Europe and they are currently looking for an Construction Superintendent to join their team.

Position Description:              

Construction Superintendant is accountable to the Construction Manager and will be the client’s representative for all civil and structural aspects on the Project.

Key Accountabilities:

•  Have an overriding commitment to a Zero Harm environment.
• Review of contractor and supplier designs.
• Assist general engineering efforts in-country Kazakhstan.
•  Ensure in-country designs conform to safe operations.
•  Review KDI designs for maintainability.
• Liaise with KDIs for monitoring of progress.
• Advise and inform KDIs of foreign engineers requirements through detail engineering.
• Coordinate constructability reviews of KDI designs through detail engineering.
• Confirm KDI mandates are concluded satisfactorily through construction and commissioning.
• Manage contractor and supplier progress in line with the project schedule and cost budgets.
• Provide discipline reports on a monthly and weekly basis
• Provide mentoring to national engineers.
• Whilst on the project site work with construction, QA/QC and commissioning to resolve engineering conflicts and contribute to a smooth and seamless handover to the operations end user.

                                              Professional Qualities

• Hold a degree level Civil / Structural Engineering Qualification
•  Have +10 years experience in the mining industry on large projects, preferably on Copper concentrator processing installations
•  Fluent in the English language and preferably with a command of the Russian language.
•  Experience working in cold climate preferred.
