GEOLOGY JOBS: 7283 - Senior Underground Geologist NSW - CLOSED
Our clients Mine is being expanded to produce around 1.2mpta. Being a complex structurally controlled massive sulphide deposit there is a requirement for significant input and direction by mine geologists in the day to day mining operations.
The Senior Mine Geologist will work “back to back” to the Mine Geology Superintendent.
Responsible for mine geology issues and advice when the Mine Geology superintendent is on R&R.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensuring effective sampling, mapping and grade control procedures are followed
- Working with mine design and mine production engineers for mine planning and scheduling
- Helping with resource / reserve modelling
- Supervise the Mine Geologists and Samplers
The appointee will have:
- 4-5 years mine geology experience in underground metalliferous mines
- Strong technical ability
- Ability to manage professional employees and techniciansIntelligentGood work ethic
- Practical – not a computer geologist / nerd – who actually likes to see the geology
Conditions
- 8 on / 6 off roster ex Brisbane
- Excellent commute and accommodation arrangements at $30.00 per night. This is charged as the mine is essentially a residential site so is not the typical camp situation in a remote location.
- 5 weeks leave
- Up to $140K salary
- 10% superannuation
- Life insurance of 2x salary
- Salary continuance insurance
- Participation in Company share scheme
The appointee can be residential and work 8/6 roster. Under such circumstance the conditions would include:
- Relocating to the mining town
- Company pay 50% of rent – the other 50% is deducted pre tax
- $1000 net/ quarter for power / water / utilities
