Geology Jobs - GEOLOGY JOBS: 8397 - Senior Resource Geologist - Closed - Details - Mining Employment Services

Our client has an immediate requirement for a Senior Resource Geologist to join its Project Studies team, based at the company's Brisbane corporate office.  Reporting to the Manager of Technical Services, the role will work within a multi-disciplinary team of geologists, geotechnical engineers, mining engineering staff and metallurgists as the company's projects moves through the feasibility study stages to development.

The Senior Resource Geologist will be responsible for managing the company's geological databases and associated resource models.  Responsibilities include-

• Quality assurance and quality control (QAQC) of all drill hole data
• Validating of all drill hole data and management of third party geological database service provision
• Interpretation of geological data
• 3-dimensional modeling
• Management of third party, independent resource estimation consultants
• Assistance in preparation of mineral resource and reserve statements compliant with JORC Code and CIM
• Assistance in writing of NI-43101 Technical Reports
• Calculation, justification and proposal, then later management and monitoring of annual budget requirements for the geology team.

The successful candidate for this opportunity will possess or demonstrate the following:

• Recognized Degree in Geology
• Post-graduate qualifications in geo-statistical analysis/resource estimation highly regarded
• Strong mine QAQC background
• Expertise in the use of geological database software (acQuire,GBIS,MS Access etc)
• Expertise in the use of geographical information systems (GIS), such as Arcview, Discover or MapInfo
• Expertise in the use of geological 3D and resource modeling software (Vulcan, Surpac, Micromine, Minex, Datamine)
• Registered Professional status or eligibility for registration in a professional organisation (such as the AusIMM (Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy) or AIG (Australian Institute of Geoscientists)
• At least 8 years experience in resource estimation
• Experience in copper-gold porphyry projects preferred but not essential

The position will require the position to be based roughly 50% of time on site in Indonesia and 50% in the company's head office in Brisbane.  We are therefore seeking candidates that are based in Brisbane and seeking an exciting opportunity with a great company.
