An excellent career growth opportunity has developed with an exploration company based in Perth, WA.  A Project Geologist is needed to advance exploration efforts in a major new project that will provide a good mix of office and field work. 

THE ROLE

Your main focus will be identifying mineralisation, designing and implementing resource drilling, and providing interpretations for resource calculations and additional drilling.  This role will involve-

• Implementation of exploration programs, which will include Auger, AC, RC, DD programs, and field mapping     
• Prioritise areas of interest based on field data, drilling results and GIS information       
• Liaise with field personnel, contractors, and local stakeholders
• Interpretation and modeling of exploration results with a view for follow up work       
• Supervision of field staff and drill rig management

THE CANDIDATE

As a suitable candidate for this position you will possess the following-

• A relevant Geology/Earth Science degree       
• Minimum 1-4 years of industry experience       
• Experience in either Exploration or Mining positions       
• Experience with a bulk mineral commodity such as iron ore or manganese or mineral sands       
• Experience in Base metals such as copper and nickel       
• Strong work ethic and high motivation levels       
• Experience in exploration methods and drill rig management       
• Experience in Micromine and MapInfo       
• Experience in working in remote locations

This role is initially offered as a permanent staff position with a 3 month probation period.  The candidate would be offered attractive remuneration and participation in the generous employee option scheme.  The role is Perth based but will also involve field work on a campaign basis to supervise drilling and to undertake recon activities.  The project is located south of Newman. Rosters when in the field are based around a nominal 2/1 cycle, with adjustments made to personal circumstances.
