Our client is a growing force in the Australian Iron ore industry, with production occurring across 3 major operations throughout Western Australia.  We are currently seeking a GEOLOGY MANAGER to join this rapidly growing and extremely successful company. 

This position is FIFO from Perth on an 8/6 roster, or flexible arrangements can be made for candidates wishing to DIDO from Broome.  Reporting to the General Manager, you will oversee all geological functions of the operation, including- 

• Managing a team of geologists and technicians to achieve key deliverable and favourable business outcomes
• Implementing policies, procedures and standards for geological activities within the operation, across near mine exploration, grade control processes and ongoing operational requirements 
• Manage quality control functions of product from Mining through to Shipment
• Development of strong departmental, interdepartmental and client/contractor relationships
• Timely presentation of all end of month reconciled production and reserve/resource depletion reports to Management.
• Coordination of production cycle activities from Mining to Crushing
• Develop and manage pit mapping and geological modelling programs
• To train and mentor staff within the department
• Ongoing procedure development, continuous improvement initiatives and report writing
• Oversee the near mine exploration to increase the reserve
• Foster a positive safety culture by actively participating in site safety initiatives and systems.

To be successful in this role you will be tertiary qualified with at least 7 years post graduate experience in a mine geology role, exposure to exploration and at least two years experience in a management position. Understanding of the Iron ore business will be looked upon favourably. You will possess strong technical and interpersonal skills with a keen knowledge of open cut mining operations and the provision of geological services to those operations.
