Our client is a well established mining company operating well over 50 years with the production of over 5 million ounces of gold.  Currently working 3 underground mines, 1 open cut and generating a steady cash flow via the production of about 80,000 ounces of gold per annum, they are now sourcing a CHIEF GEOLOGIST to join their team.    

The Role

Reporting to the Registered Manager, you will-

·        Impart to others a safe work attitude

·        Be ultimately responsible for the integrity of mine geology systems, processes and reports

·        Safeguard the delivery of geological services to all production centres

·        Provide guidance and mentoring to mine geologists and other staff

·        Ensure timely resource modelling, QAQC, reconciliation and reporting

·        Liaise with staff from across the company and external consultants.

The Candidate

As the ideal candidate you will-

·        Have a minimum of 15 years experience in a variety of surface and underground mining environments, geological settings and commodities including narrow vein, nuggety, precious metal settings

·        Have demonstrated management success within the mining industry

·        Be familiar with Datamine or Surpac, the Windows suite of software and the application of      QAQC procedures 

·        Be a JORC Competent Person in structurally controlled mineralisation

·        Have the right to work in Australia.

This position offers the flexibility of residential living in family or single company housing, within a town that boasts primary and secondary schooling, hospital, swimming pool, golf course and shops.  Alternatively there is FIFO Perth on a 9/5 roster, or DIDO Kalgoorlie or Esperance on a variety of rosters.  A degree of roster flexibility is accommodated.
