GEOLOGY JOBS: 8196 - Resource Geologist
Our client is a mining, development and exploration company based in Perth. It's primary focus is on gold development and mining, with the Company is actively mining and advancing its flagship project in the goldfields of Western Australia. They are currently sourcing a RESOURCE GEOLOGIST to join their Perth based team.
Responsibilities of the role
- Build, review & maintain block models of resources
- Provide technical advice and mentoring to development crews on resource matters
- Work with Development Manager to ensure resource reporting meets JORC standards
- Maintaining standards of QA/QC and data validation of development work
- Validation and geological evaluation of resource opportunities
- Assist engineering staff to produce reserve statements
- Assist mine geological staff with reconciliation reporting
- Assist with data support for development staff
- Occasional short site visits
Right person for the role
This would be an excellent opportunity for a motivated exploration or mine geologist with the prerequisite geological and computer skills to make the transition into resource geology in a Perth based role.
- Degree in Geology
- Previous experience working as an advanced exploration or mine geologist in the Australian gold mining industry
- Datamine software essential
- Ideally have had some underground resource experience
- Expected is a knowledge of geostatistics, variography and modeling processes
- Knowledge of best practice sampling procedures, including QA/QC processes
- Good understanding of geological controls on Archaean orogenic gold
deposits and the effect of the regolith overprint is considered essential - C class Western Australian drivers licence
