Our client is a leading growth-focused Australian mid-cap gold producer with various Australian gold projects across QLD and WA, a defined growth pathway, significant & exciting exploration potential and a strong financial position.

The Role

The Geology Manager will have overall responsibility for providing geological control of the underground mine development to maximise metal recovery and mine head grade. You will also be accountable to lead the exploration activities, with the key focus on delivering new resources annually.

The role is responsible for managing and mentoring a team of staff mine and exploration geologists, field assistants and underground technicians, as well as drilling contractors. Key to the delivery of the program is management of safety, cultural, community and landholder relationships. The Candidate  

• A strong focus and adherence to safety, environmental compliance and continuous improvement 
• At least 12 years relevant geology experience, of which at least 5 years must be in a supervisory or senior capacity
• Setting direction and leading the team, including leading by example in terms of behaviours consistent with company values
• Tertiary qualifications in Geology or similar
• Proven knowledge of ore body modelling and estimation techniques, including underground mining experience
• Experience in exploration of narrow-vein epithermal deposits is highly desirable
• Ability to conduct JORC code reporting of reserves and resources for definition purposes
• Datamine, Datashed, Micromine and/or Mapinfo experience is preferred but not essential
• Act as a mentor and coach to other members of the team
• Ability to liaise with external bodies, including state government departments
• Proven experience in budgetary management.

This position is located in central Queensland, approximately 500 kilometres northwest of Brisbane. The operation is predominantly FIFO from the southeast Queensland coastal areas, but we are willing to consider alternatives.
