HEALTH SAFETY AND TRAINING JOBS: 7141- Underground Safety and Training Coordinator
Our Client operates in a large scale open cut mine and underground pit with an adjacent processing plant and they are currently recruiting an experienced Underground Safety and Training Coordinator for their operation.
The key objective is to manage the development and continuous improvement of policies and procedures to meet or exceed underground mine Occupational Health & Safety and contractual requirements. Ongoing safety education, hazard identification and elimination to ensure work site safety is of the highest standard will be a primary focus of this role.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Certificate in Health & Safety Management
- Senior First Aid (desirable)
- Workplace training and assessment certificates an advantage.
Experience:

Extensive experience in (a minimum of 7 years) in leading health and safety activities in an underground mining environment.

Previous practical experience in managing & leading operational personnel
Skills/Attributes:
- Sound analytical, problem solving and data management skills
- High attention to detail, time management, planning and organising
- Excellent communication and Interpersonal skills

Demonstrated ability to motivate, lead and develop people in a manner which results in a sustained change in behaviour and performance.

An in-depth understanding and appreciation of underground mining safety regulations and practices.

Demonstrated commitment to achieving best practice results in risk management and accident and injury prevention. Incident management experience desired.
