Our client is a major mining house with operations across the globe. They are currently looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Metallurgist to join their operation in the capacity of Senior Metallurgy Advisor.

The major focus of this role is to build the skills, competency and ability of national staff to ensure metallurgical goals (including projects) are achieved and production and personnel development plans are realised.

You will act as an adviser to the Process Metallurgy group by providing mentoring and coaching in Metallurgical, Safety and Management practices in all areas of the process covered by the metallurgical and technical services group.

In order to meet the requirements, you will need to be able to demonstrate the following:

• A tertiary degree in Metallurgy or relevant engineering discipline, and a minimum of ten years in the mining and mineral processing industry in a supervisory level position is essential.
• Proven knowledge of mineral processing, particularly in grinding and base metals beneficiation is essential.
• Proven track record in technical project evaluation, management and control.
• Highly developed problem solving, analytical thinking and creative thinking skills are essential.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills - must be able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
