MINING ENGINEERING: 5400 - Mining Manager - WA
Our Client is an international leader in the global mining industry. They are currently seeking a Mining Manager for one of their key operations in Western Australia.
This position is to provide strategic and operational leadership to the Surface and Underground Mining Operations, including building a mining team that is focused on delivering safe and efficient production and developing the future reserves to optimise the mine life. The major challenge for this position is to continually maintain the focus of the mining team including the Alliance in delivering operational results in an intensive and highly variable mining environment.
The Mining Manager works within the challenges of a highly competitive and ever changing mining industry to ensure all advantages of business improvement and technical excellence are adopted, this is further complicated with the difficulties of resourcing in the current market. The Mining Manager must ensure mining standards are constantly improving to enable all areas of the mining operation to attain a world-class level. The technical excellence includes areas of mining engineering, geotechnical engineering, geology, surveying, maintenance and general mining extraction methods and supervision.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Familiarity and experience of the Australian mining industry and associated mining regulations
- Experience in an owner/miner and contractor environment is highly desirable
- Strong analytical skills, with a focus on Continuous Improvement
- Dynamic, self-motivated, a determination to excel, and a commitment to action
- Strong Leadership and sound management skills
- Financial management and budgeting skills
- Exposure to strategic business planning processes

| Experience: | A minimum of 10 years operational experience within several different mining operations with a minimum of 5 years in an underground operation and 2 years in a senior management role. |
