Our Client is a publicly listed company on the Australian Stock Exchange operating in mineral sands. Expansion plans are now being developed to further increase production at its flagship operation, and a Senior Metallurgist is sought at this exciting stage of the project’s development.

The role is responsible for the metallurgical performance of the primary concentration and mineral separation plants, from receipt of ore through to the delivery of product to the rail load-out facility. It will require frequent liaison with mining, processing and maintenance personnel, and has the Production Metallurgist as a direct report.  

Responsibilities will include:

• Demonstrate and maintain a high level of commitment towards safety, the environment and the community
• Provide metallurgical assistance and support to production teams
• Manage the planning and execution of plant trials and test work
• Identify and manage mineral processing plant development and improvement activities
• Generate budget and forecast physical data
• Assist with feasibility studies for future operations
• Develop and maintain the metallurgical accounting system

Ideally you will have;

• A Tertiary Qualification in Metallurgy
• Excellent communication and team-based skills
• Experience at a senior or supervisory level in the mining industry. 
• Advanced computer literacy and a proactive approach to problem solving as required, as is the ability to work with operating crews to achieve targets.  
• Previous mineral sands experience will be highly regarded.
