SURVEYING: 5043 - Senior Mine Surveyor - Yilgarn Region WA

Our Client is an Australian gold producer, with current production of 170,000 ounces of gold per annum, increasing to an anticipated 450,000 ounces per annum during the second half of 2008. In addition, the Company is exploring Australia wide for gold, nickel and copper, supported by a $24 million per year exploration budget.

The Company has the corporate objective of becoming a 1 million ounce producer of gold per annum, with 10 million ounces in reserves, by 2010.

They are seeking the services of an Underground Senior Mine Surveyor to lead the underground surveying and surface mining teams and be fully involved in all mine surveying activities.

Responsibilities of this role include;

  • Maintaining up-to-date survey controls and data on mine status
  • Tracking development activity against mine plans and ensuring surveying targets are met to optimise production from the underground and surface resources
  • Ensure all surveying activities are carried out safely and in accordance with company standards and legislative requirements

To be successful in this position, you will have;

  • An authorised Mine Surveyor Certificate Grade 1 
  • You will be a proactive and team oriented individual, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • You will be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of statutory safety requirements and familiarity with drafting and modelling software used in ore body definition and mine planning Surpac experience preferred

Duty Roster: The position is offered on a fly in fly out basis but residential options are also available.
Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Surveying
Experience: Relevant surveying experience preferably gained in both open pit and underground in the gold industry
