Our Client, a West Australian based supplier of iron ore to the Chinese and Japanese markets are now seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Senior Mining Engineer to join their operation.

Key responsibilities of this role include;

• Delivery of short and medium-term mine plans, reports and presentations on a quarterly basis conforming to production and quality targets, and long term plans/objectives.
• Delivery of medium term mine plans, in a timely manner, which provide for logical mine development with an extraction sequence meeting tonnage, quality and cost objectives.
• Conformance with the long-term business strategy.
• General options analysis and contingency planning.
• Timely identification and communication of all mine development issues and risks within the short to long-term planning horizon.
• Maintain strategic conformance to plan while incorporating operational constraints.
• Understand, reconcile and report on planning input parameters to improve quality of plans.
• Involve in pit re optimisation, LOM planning and 5 year planning process by providing required input data and feedback to long term planning engineers
• Initiate ground disturbance approvals based on Medium Term Plan requirements for pits, dumps, roads and rehabilitation.
• Lead and mentor direct report/s

The successful candidate will possess;

• Degree in Mining Engineering or Mining related field
• Drivers licence
• Mining experience in an open cut operation
• Planning experience (short, medium and long term
• Exposure to multi-pit and multi element mining operations
• Blending of raw materials
• Strong computer skills including MS Office, Surpac Vision or other mining software
• Strong time management skills
• Proactive approach
