For their underground mine situated in the Southern Goldfields our client is looking for a SENIOR IMPROVEMENT ENGINEER
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Operations Improvement Engineer will report directly to and work closely with the Manager Mining and his direct reports to deliver against the business improvement targets set for the Mine. The incumbent will also operate as part of the Business Improvement network of peers on site including geology and processing as well as peers off site including procurement and systems.
The Senior Operations Improvement Engineer will be responsible for understanding the key commercial drivers and future growth options for the mine and coordinating the identification, evaluation and implementation of business improvement initiatives and will support the Manager Mining in deploying the systems and processes required for delivery of the mine targets.
The successful applicant will be responsible for establishing and managing the underground technical and operational improvement projects and in doing so will work closely with the mining contractor and specialist consultants.
This is a senior role therefore the applicant will have strong coordination skills for the implementation, planning and resourcing of BI opportunities. The role will involve the project management of business improvement teams of varying size to deliver sustainable business improvement outcomes within strict time frames.
To be successful in this role, applicants will have strong project management skills and experience in implementing business improvement programs such as six sigma.
REQUIREMENTS
· Must have a tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering
· 7 years underground mining experience
· A WA First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency would be advantageous.
