Our Client is a leading international mining group headquartered in the UK. Their business is finding, mining, and processing mineral resources. Major products are aluminium, copper, diamonds, energy (coal and uranium), gold, industrial minerals (borax, titanium dioxide, salt, talc) and iron ore. Activities span the world but are strongly represented in Australia and North America with significant businesses in South America, Asia, Europe and southern Africa

Responsibilities of this role include:

• Provide leadership to the underground survey crew mentoring them in underground surveying techniques and safe working procedures
• Liaise with senior mining personnel on a daily and weekly basis in relation to development issues

Quality control of mining excavations is a major focus through design reconciliation and monitoring of underground development with weekly and monthly reporting.

To be successful in this role you will ideally have:

• Extensive mining experience in an underground operation
•  Authorised Mine Surveyor Grade 1 in accordance with the WA Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations 1995 is desirable
• Enthusiasm for continuous improvement
• Computer literacy and systems knowledge relevant to mine surveying
• Commitment to safe work and environmental practices
• Experience with Contractors and Project Management would be desirable.
• Ability to self manage and perform tasks autonomously
