The main focus of this position is to manage the Underground Mining Department on a daily basis, while ensuring adherence to all statutory requirements of safety, health and environmental standards and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Manage all underground mining operations including contractors
Manage senior mining personnel ensuring operation targets are meet
Continuously review, improve and monitor safety and environmental aspects of the operation
Financial review and monitoring of operational budgets
Provide effective leadership to the site management team
Ensure statutory compliance is met and maintained in accordance with the Mining Act and Regulations
Requirements:
Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering.
First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency.
Minimum 15 years experience and have previously worked as an Underground Manager
Previous expat experience
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Strong commercial acumen with proven experience managing budgets, costs and resources
High level communication skills both verbal and written.
