On behalf of our client, we are currently seeking an experienced Senior Underground Geologist for a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.
Reporting to the Geology Superintendent you will be required to help manage the geological processes for the Underground Operation, while ensuring adherence to all statutory requirements and Company Safety, Health and Environmental standards and procedures.
Key responsibilities will include:
Planning and scheduling of all Geological Services associated with the UG operations on site
Effective direction and supervision of mine geologists and geotechnicians in mine production
Technical reports based on resource definition and production findings
Set up and modify Underground Geological procedures
Responsible for all geological QAQC
AcQuire Database management
Design and implementation of all Drilling programs
Production reconciliation
Resource estimations
To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and attributes:
Tertiary qualification in Geology
At least 10 years relevant experience in Underground mining preferably gold
Have a strong background in structural geology
Good understanding of Resource modeling, estimation and geostatistics
Advanced experience in the use of Surpac, as well as Microsoft Office
Sound knowledge of relevant statutory safety requirements and the ability to provide leadership and motivation to your team
The ability to work autonomously and manage your time around priorities by delegating to a team of geologists
