OPEN PIT GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER
Our client is an emerging producer that is currently commissioning it's Australian flagship operation. On their behalf, we are currently looking for an experienced Open Pit Geotechnical Engineer for their operation to be responsible for providing geotechnical input and support to the design, operation and optimisation of open pits and waste disposal, ensuring that all works are implemented in accordance with the Ground Control Management Plan and health and safety guidelines.

Assist in achievement of Annual Budget and Monthly Production Targets (updated as required)
Review & Update the Ground Control Management Plan and ensure compliance to the plan
Geotechnical Pit Mapping
Assess Pit designs and advise on Geotechnical requirements
Advise Mine Engineers of any geotechnical issues which will affect blast design & performance
Educate and inform Operators about Geotechnical issues
Post Blast assessment & reporting
Geotechnical data collection and reporting on groundwater, pit wall stability, slope analysis
Monitoring and review of site infrastructure, Water Storage Facility, Tailings Storage Facility, regulated ponds and storages, Waste Dumps, ROM Pad, etc
Design, Maintain and Evaluate Prism monitoring program for all Pits

Requirements

Tertiary Qualifications in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology
Current Unencumbered C Class driver license minimum
2 years minimum experience in Geotechnical position in an Open Pit mining environment
Moderate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications ie Word, Excel, etc
Moderate knowledge of mining software, such as Surpac or similar.
Experience in a Cu operation
