Our client operates an underground gold mine in an overseas location and they are currently looking for an Underground Mine Superintendent for their operation.
Reporting to and deputising for the Underground Manager, the primary focus of this role is production, scheduling and to manage the mining contractor on a day to day basis to ensure works are carried out in line with the contract terms and conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure the health and safety of all staff involved in mining operations is in compliance with Company standards
Liasion and supervision of the underground mining and ore haulage contractor
Ensure team members receive effective mentoring, coaching and support.
Monitoring and reporting monthly mine performance
Identification of design and mine improvement opportunities
Monitor mining standards to ensure mining quality and dilution control
Qualifications and Skills:
Tertiary qualification in a mining discipline or significant operational experience at this level.
Proven ability to manage contract operations
Initiative and strong problem solving skills
Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
Previous expat experience well regarded
