This is a crucial position, and as such the company is expecting a high degree of long term commitment from the incumbent, in return for outstanding rewards and opportunities to make a significant contribution to the success of the group.  As General Manager - Operations, you will be a key operational and strategic focal point for existing operations and the continued development of their flagship asset. The role will extend to:  Overall responsibility for all activities involved in the mining operations in accordance with all statutory requirements, legislative responsibilities and Company Safety, Health and Environmental standards and procedures. Operations include Open Pit and Underground mines, a processing plant and a large resource inventory requiring conversion to reserve. Overall responsibility to ensure the operation meets agreed corporate expectations of production and is achieved in accordance with the above, whilst promoting and implementing effective cost controls and risk management practices. To effectively manage the mining/processing operations you will require considerable financial and commercial acumen, exceptional people management and leadership ability, excellent presentation and communication skills with the ability, drive and imagination to lead and inspire people to achieve predetermined results. The role is central to the success of the group and occupies a prominent position within the organisation's structure.
