Our client is a thriving mining company with several new gold projects in Western Australia & on their behalf MES is seeking an experienced  Safety Supervisor to lead the team.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

Diploma in OHS (or higher);
Strong knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite;
Competent using safety based database systems (incident, action, register, etc.);
ICAM trained and experienced in leading investigations;
Auditing Qualifications e.g. Lead Auditor;
Understanding of Critical Control Management (Critical Risk);
Leadership and Management Training;
Strong leadership and mentoring skills;
Demonstrated skills with safety technology and basic IT systems;
Current Australian Drivers Licence (Manual);
Sound knowledge of Mines Regulations, OHS & Duty of care;
Good computer skills using with INX and Pronto (highly regarded).

Position Duties:

  • Conducting or participating in risk assessments, audits and inspections of site work activities and conditions, including high risk tasks and shutdown activity;
  • Providing an advisory and supportive role into HSEC matters, inclusive of incident/accident investigation processes and reporting requirements, monitoring the completion of recommendations and actions from incident investigations, inspections;
  • Manage the team of 2 medics and 1 ERT Officer;
  • Daily, weekly, monthly reports on reportable hazards and incidents; including statutory reports for DMIRS
Experience
Demonstrated mine site experience working in a lead OHS role i.e. Supervisor/Superintendent level.within the resource or construction industry.
