MES is currently looking for an experienced open-pit Senior Mine Geologist for a 6-month contract position at our client's overseas operation.
Reporting to the Geology Superintendent, you will manage best practice ore control, estimation and geological processes to ensure efficient resource extraction in a complex and challenging orebody.
As a senior team member, your responsibilities will include leading and developing a national team of geologists and technicians by mentoring, coaching and leading by example.

Degree qualification in geosciences
Significant operational experience in open pit mine geology in a gold operation
Proven experience and understanding of Surpac, Datamine or similar mining software package
Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability, with solid written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work with a diverse range of people and cultures, and unwavering commitment to safety

Position Duties:

  • All QAQC processes are in place and achieved required targets
  • High quality grade control drilling and sampling processes to support the mine plan
  • Data analysis to improve understanding of grade distribution and controls on mineralisation.
