MES is currently looking for an experienced open-pit Senior Mine Geologist for a 6-month contract position at our client's overseas operation.
The key objective of the Senior Mine Geologist is to manage the definition and extraction of the ore reserve for delivery to the processing plant. You will report to the Geology Superintendent, providing technical supervision and guidance to the mine geology team.

Degree qualification in geosciences
Significant operational experience in open pit mine geology - Cu/Au
Proven experience and understanding of Surpac, Datamine or similar mining software package
Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability, with solid written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work with a diverse range of people and cultures, and unwavering commitment to safety

Position Duties:

  • Design, planning, scheduling, and execution of drilling activities in accordance with production targets and mine planning schedules.
  • Liaison with and supervision of drilling contractor with regards to high-quality sampling practices and sample recovery.
  • Technical supervision, analysis and support to production geology and ore control functions
