Our client, a successful WA gold miner, requires an Underground Planning Engineer to work on their owner-operator underground mine in the goldfields.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's in Mining Engineering or similar;
  • Current unrestricted “C” Class WA Manual Drivers Licence;
  • Able to obtain NPC clearance;
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills;
  • Competent user of Deswik mine planning software (Desirable).

Position Duties:

  • Convert the long-term plan into a productive, safe, and executable mid-term, short-term, and two weekly schedules;
  • Produce cost-effective and practical designs for underground lateral, decline, and vertical development, and project plans;
  • Champion the short-term plan and take corrective action to make up for any shortfall against targets and communicate risks to plan to management;
  • Provide technical assistance to the contracting company for operational requirements;
  • Assist with training and relief coverage of production engineers;
  • Conduct routine inspections of the underground to identify and rectify any issues that may impact the achievement of the weekly and monthly schedules and schedule project work required.
Experience
At least 3 years underground mining engineer experience.
