Our client, a successful Australian Gold producer, is looking for a Project Exploration Geologist to join their team at one of their Western Australian gold operations.
You will be responsible for identifying new gold resources and effectively managing drilling programs to convert resources to reserves.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in Geology or related discipline;
- Current WA class C manual driver's licence;
- Presentation and communication skills;
- Exposure to Leapfrog / Micromine, ioGAS, and ArcGIS (desirable, not essential)
Position Duties:
- Design and maintain exploration drilling programs;
- Project work as required by the Senior Exploration Geologist;
- Compile geological models and assess a range of geological information, including mapping, geochemical sampling, and geophysical surveys;
- Work to help develop empirical and conceptual models based on a sound knowledge of Archaean gold and other mineral deposits;
- Drill rig supervision; geological logging, geological interpretation; ensure sampling quality is maintained. Ensure drilling is completed to appropriate standards and is cost-effective;
- Assist with planning and oversight of environmental and heritage surveys as required;
- Mentoring geologists and other field personnel.
Experience
5+ years' professional experience (ideally within gold).
