MES is seeking an experienced Underground Mine Geologist to work for our client, a Western Australian gold developer with a significant high-grade gold deposit.

Requirements: 

  • Tertiary Qualification in Geology;
  • Sound knowledge of mapping, structural geology, drilling, and sampling techniques;
  • Ability to work autonomously with well-developed time management skills;
  • Competent in technical writing, reporting, and communicating of technical data to site management;
  • Proficient in using mining and geology-related software packages (e.g. Vulcan and acQuire). 

Position Duties:

  • Execute digital UG face/wall mapping program;
  • Develop, implement and monitor various underground geology procedures, including but not limited to face mapping and sampling, wall mapping, ore drive directions, logging;
  • Provide ore drive directions to optimize orebody position for stoping;
  • Establish mine geology systems for production;
  • Supervise and train junior Geologists for underground activities;
  • Assist in UG and OP production tracking and ore delineation;
  • Ensure the provision of quality logging, sampling and QAQC practices from resource definition and grade control drilling programs;
  • Weekly and monthly reporting of UG geology-related activities;
  • Assist Senior Geologist with wireframing and updating significant geological structures within the mine.
Experience
At least 1 years experience working in a similar role (preferably gold).
